In the United States over a 1 million children, 5 years old or under, were exposed to potential poisons in 2004. These were accidental and preventable. Educators play a key role providing information parents, grandparents, caretakers, and others need to prevent or minimize accidental injury. Older adults have increased risk of food poisoning, medication error, drug interactions, and adverse effects. These can be reduced through education.
